IMManifesto
Immaterial, as a word, suggests a relinquishing of materials, or an attempt to transcend. The materials employed are utilitarian, remnants, scraps, and of little actual value, this is the underlying reference to our feminist protest towards the undervaluing of women’s work and women’s roles in society.
Interested in the ways our practices intersect and overlap, our approach was to create a series of works in partnership before resolving a number of individual pieces. The strategy for collaboration was to create unfinished objects or find discarded but interesting materials and swap them with one another, relinquishing creative control and allowing the other to intervene, reconstruct, comment, react to, or build upon.
Aesthetically, Immaterial aims to create a camaraderie of experience and a re-generation of empathic perspective.

- We act upon elusive thoughts and we perform actions from lived experience,
